no abolishment of the private sector health insurance industry, and no take over of medical facilities? There is no public option in the current health care reform bill so the government is not providing health care. The government is providing health care reform or regulation. Before I start exchanging currencies, I need to learn as much as possible including the basics of forex. The only thing that I need to know is how can you lose with foreign exchange. Since it's not like shares where its possible to lose if its value drops, with foreign exchange, you can buy or sell whenever you like even if it means in 10 years time. I understand that if you have leverage from brokers, you lose out with the interest rates of borrowing the money to buy/sell. ***But say if I don't borrow any money from brokers and use my possess capital that i'm willing to use, then there is no interest rates since i haven't borrowed money and therefore does it mean that I can never lose out? I'll simply just sell when the rates are high...*** Thanks for any contributors. I really want to learn about these things :)

I know some of you are probably wondering, "Why the hell would you hear to a tune that you can't understand?" My school has a crap load of foreign exchange students and my friends and I always trade music with them. Sometimes, I'm able to translate the lyrics if I have extra time but it feels like I'm listening to an instrumental because I don't understand the words. But if the beat and the rhythm is pretty sweet, then I keep the tune. Now I have some artists on my computer that are Indian, Korean, Japanese, African, and Danish. Do you hear to songs that are in languages you can't talk... Or am I the only one that weird.
So, i've liked this guy for a couple of days* now. and he is a COMPLETE nerd. like the bad nice of nerd. Glasses, Braces, Constant studying, his mom picks out his clothes, etc. I like him because he is very ... okay i don't know why i like him but i do, okay? Anyways, my family's foreign exchange student stayed after school to do homework and she came home and told me that she had bad news and that he doesn't like me. and she took a friggin' picture with him. The reason that i know him is because we sit together in band and we play the same instrument. I know it will be awkward sitting by him monday, because i'm pretty sure that she told him that i like him... and i am really mad because i think that she likes him because she TOOK A PICTURE WITH HIM, and she talked to him .. so what do you think about the situation? What should i say/do to him on monday?? Should I be mad at her? thanks :)
We listened to the students talk about their travels to different countries. We looked at pictures from different countries. We watched a spanish classe's "foreign language week" video. It was really silly! and then also translate this please! Two more students came in to tell us about their travels to France. They showed us many pictures of their trip and the exchange students that came to the US. The spanish class sang two songs in spanish. Then, we watched a video from the Latin Class. We watched our video from our class. It was very embarassing but silly to watch. Foreign Language week was fun! Ive translated them as best as i could but i DO NOT want to screw it up and have it not be understandable. I dont want the french (whom i will be speaking to) to not understand what im saying. THANKS! this may be confusing!!! translate the first little paragraph and then the 2nd little paragraph! (dont translate where imm talking about translating or where i say "and translate this please"... if that makes any sense!)

Whether Service Tax will be applicable in such case?

I have only mentioned it once to them and they are very protective and not used to letting me do anything too exciting. I would adore to go to Japan in a YFU exchange for six weeks in the summer of 2011, so I still have a lot of time. I don't really know how to explain to my parents how important this is to me and what exactly the YFU program is. My mom would most likely freak out at the idea of me being out of her reach for six weeks, but my dad is very supportive of every of my interests. I was thinking about making a power point to explain every of this to them, but if there are any other ways that would be better, I would really adore to know.
As is when people change money, the retailers always give better rate than the bank, how can they make profit, where they receive the money from.
OK here goes, I really like this guy and introduced myself to him, a foreign exchange student. We started talking a lot in outside his classes or the library and after one amazing conversation, we exchanged number. I initiated that. The first week or so I did most of the texting and arranging meetings. After two weeks or so I started to not text first and now he's always texting me, finding out when I have free classes and planning to meet up. We have been going out for lunches, movies, coffees wgenever we are free at university and even on weekends. This has been happening for more than a month now. We talk about everything below the sun. We giggle continuously, exchange family stories and he seems absolutely wonderful. Also, what appeals to him maybe is that I lived in his country for a bit when I was younger and can understand his language a bit. I know he has no girlfriend here and we have amazing conversation with extended eye contact. He's not interested in any of the girls in this university. We both are foreign students in a odd country. My questions? 1) Are we sort of informally going out? We spend every our free time together. 2) Will he ever formally ask me out? 3)Whats going on? 4) we even went out on Valentine's day for a movie, lunch and coffee.. Will he ever make a move on me? Does he consider me as just as a pal? :( Oops wrong category but still need help :)

I'm a student who wishes to go to Japan for a certain time period over the summer through an exchange student program. Sadly, the program my teacher gave me had past deadlines and I could no longer apply for it. I've searched for programs online, but some of them seem not trustworthy, nor do they have any of the scholarships I'm looking for. Can you please name a few exchange student sites that I can do? I would really appreciate it because it's my last chance to do anything I want before I enter college. Please help.
I constantly feel that I, as an American, am too naive about the world around me, and I want to change that. People in other countries that are my age (19) are able to do so many things like talk other languages and appreciate everything that they have. They seem to know so much! A foreign exchange student from Germany went on and on about America's past presidents and their accomplishments. I just sat there listening, feeling stupid. The one thought I remember having was, "Does Germany even have a president, or do they have a king?" I need help.
Voting Question: Has anyone from the UK used tranzfers.com to transfer money to an overseas account?
I want to buy some cds from a company in Slovenia. They arrive to around 65 euro. Banks charge a staggering £20-£25 to do the transfer but this lot say they do it for £7. It has been mentioned on Martin Lewis's website http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/foreign-currency-exchange#step3 Has it been successful for anyone? Thanks
I am from the United States and I am really looking into being a foreign exchange student. Do you know of a good agency I could look into? I am wanting to go somewhere where they talk English. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I am wanting to go to Japan for my junior year and I want to know some things, since convincing my dad won't be the easiest of feats. I need A LOT of info to convince him. 1.What are some good programs? 2.How does one go paying for this trip, does it have to be paid in full or in payments if so what are some payment options? 3.Do you think Japan is a good place to go,if so why? If someone could answer me these questions it would be appreciated.
Thank you former democratically elected marxist president Salvador Allende(who was removed from office in a bloody US-sponsored coup):. If there were a heaven, I'm sure you'd be in it: The Chilean Seismic Code is relatively old [3], its first version was approved in 1972. It has been updated twice (1993 and 1996), but maintains the chilean practice of the use of adequate shear walls density based design, which has always produced satisfactory results. http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1289347 The building codes were not updated during right-wing dictator Pinochet's reign from '74 to '90. It's also interesting how much Pinochet loved the free-market: Pinochet, with the help of 400 CIA advisers, privatized the social and welfare system and destroyed the Chilean trade union movement. As Malcolm Coad pointed out: "This was achieved through wholesale privatisation, a complete opening to the international economy, fixing the exchange rate artificially low, and pumping in foreign loans during the petro-dollar glut of the tardy 1970s. The result was the destruction of national industry and much of agriculture, then close-collapse in the early 1980s amid a frenzy of speculation, consumer imports and debt crisis. The state bailed out most of the country's banking sector and unemployment rose to an official level of over 30 per cent." But I digress. Building codes are government regulation! A more free market friendly approach would have been building codes like those in Haiti. The CIA had very close ties to Pinochet: http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20000919/index.html http://foia.state.gov/Reports/HincheyReport.asp#9 https://www.cia.gov/library/reports/general-reports-1/chile/index.html#9

The objective is to understand the best means of saving money. Not for evading taxes. I have a business idea to earn some foreign exchange. I also would like to visit US and funds for the related expenses. I do not want the erosion of funds due to transfer charges. I would like to pay taxes on this income in India. RK, Thanks for the info. This appears to be for a resident of US to send money to India. How do my US customers remit money to me through this? Are they required to open a account at SBI?
I'm traveling to Ireland soon and have some money that I was hoping to convert to Euros at a bank in Dublin. I recently read that many banks will not accept US 100 dollar bills due to the high number of forgeries in circulation in Ireland. Is this true? Will most banks not accept these bills? I found this info on the US Embassy site: http://dublin.usembassy.gov/service/financial-services/exchange-100-bills-in-ireland.html It says these places may exchange the bills: Thomas Cook Overseas Ltd., JWT Foreign Exchange, and Currency Exchange Bank of Ireland. Are these the only places and are they likely to cash my bills? every of mine are issued after 2001 and most are 2006 series bills. Thanks.
I am considering to do student foreign exchange for a semester next year or year after and need to start applying soon. I just came back from Barcelona and loved it however I don't know Spanish that well and the uni I want to go there doesn't provide courses in English. If I went to Barcelona, I'd take a course/electives in learning Spanish before I leave (If I receive in). Hopefully studying it for at least a year and a half will help me. I was considering London because it would be easier since I know English but have not been there yet. Stockholm is a place I've always wanted to go to as well and the universities there do provide Architecture courses in English. But I also don't know how it is like there too. I don't want to spend a semester in a city I don't like... Help me decide! I want to study in another country that I will adore to live in and not regret it and want to go home...
I'm on a foreign exchange in France and I've only done Functions at home so I'm nice of lost. Note, these letters are not variables, in questions they'll ask "In R...". Any help?
I just have a curious question on spread betting the foreign exchange markets or forex and if the best way to trade it is by following the medium-term to long-term trend, i.e. a few weeks to a few months? Is this the best way to trade it as this is what I did with my practice account and gained 426% in 2 weeks? Is this the best way to go about it as I know currencies usually trend long-term? Please help/advise. Thanks.
The dept of foreign affairs website advertises a 12 month exchange programme, developed in 2008, between the US and Ireland, for students and recent college graduates. Has anybody done this? Do you need a job lined up first like most working visas? Does it have to be a certain type of job like other work permits? Any info will help! Thanks! Here's the website: http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=73713 Yes, the J-1. Do you think an au pair job would work? Or would I have to receive an additional job? Can it just be some entry level job? Like working at a pub or restuarant? Thank you, I'll check out those websites. Also, I'm coming from the US going to Ireland. I don't know if that matters.
The noble dream to which America is too controlled to pursue... 1- Revolutionize the education system in america! Allow for a new means of upholding the value and role of the free market along with an ethical and non bias approach to teaching our kids about the natural and positive affects of being reverent before every of life, being aware of propaganda and social conditioning, and being engaged in working to understand history and the prospect of opposition within the human experience. Lets say you are throwing a party... And there are 17 guests coming. On the party table is an assorted amount of goodies such as cookies and chips and of course dip. Drinks are also available. The Mormon twins arrive first followed shortly by six girls from Algebra class. The last four to arrive are foreign exchange students. What color is the party host's eyes? The missing guests every decided to skip the party and are therefore unimportant lol.
I made the mistake of NOT buying my convertible pesos from my bank. You can certainly buy them at the airport in CUBA, but can you buy them at the foreign exchange at Toronto International airport, can you use your bank card to tug money out there? FROM THE hOTEL? Will it cost much? will it cost alot from the Hotel? from the Airport in Cuba? or at the international airport ? thanks for Any input?
Lately I've really been wanting to learn a second language. I've narrowed my choices down to three: Spanish (would arrive in handy as I live in California), Portuguese (I am half Portuguese and my mom is fluent in both English and Portuguese) or German (there are several German foreign exchange students at my school who could help me). Which one would you recommend studying? Is there another which might be simpler to learn? Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
So, I'm interested in doing a foreign exchange program, likely for a full year (probably with AFS) when I'm a junior, a little less than two years from now. I've put together a list of places I'd like to go, can someone tell me which would be best? I'm doing well in my Spanish III class, but knowing the language isn't a huge deal for me, since I wouldn't be able to keep up anyway. Also, could you mention what the people are like? Ie; I've always heard that Italians are really open, while the Swiss are more reserved, etc. I'm a bit shy to start, so I was just wondering. So here's my list: Austria Germany Italy Spain Czech Republic Denmark Switzerland Sweden Hungary I'd also really like to go to Latvia or Russia, but I have to compromise with my parents , and i guess growing up during the icy War, they're a bit iffy about Russia/ former eastern bloc countries. thanks :)
The creation of such a big volume of excess reserves, in the Fed’s case, results from the enormous expansion in the Fed’s discount window lending, foreign exchange swaps, and asset purchases I want to know what "the Fed’s discount window lending" and "foreign exchange swaps" mean. Could someone tutor me ?
